Can you tell us a little about who you are?
My name is Beth and I started life a long time ago in South Africa. This African childhood left me with a love of the music, the people and the crafts of Africa. Ethical Gifts was born as a way of combining this interest with a desire to do something, albeit small, to help those whose lives are so difficult as a result of poverty
Can you tell us about your products?
The products stocked by Ethical Gifts are a selection of fair-trade and ecofriendly gifts. The products vary from very sweet baby toys, recycled bomb shell jewellery to multi-coloured African animals made from recycled rubber thongs
How do you incorporate recycled material into your products?
Fair-trade crafts are usually recycled. The resources available to many of the crafts people are limited so they use waste material and often in impressively ingenious and creative ways
What does the future have in store for Ethical Gifts?
I think the future for ecofriendly, recycled and fair-trade products is very positive as more and more people come to see the urgency and the importance of taking care of both the people and the planet.
